Parental support or guidance is a specialised type of counselling that is designed to help parents navigate challenges and enhance family dynamics. This is a 50 minute virtual consultation. These consultations are held with the parents alone, or they can be part of the child or adolescent therapy process. This service is a way of providing understanding for parents of their child's developmental stage and helps implement strategies to manage behaviours, support families during periods of transition, and helps maintain stability and unity for the whole family. Additionally, parental support offers a safe space for parents to address their own emotional struggles and mental health concerns, empowering them to prioritise their well-being while fostering a positive family environment.
