BetterCare Mental Health Services has been shortlisted for the 2026 Irish Healthcare Awards in the category of Outpatient Care Initiative of the Year.
The nomination recognises our work to redesign outpatient care pathways for people accessing neurodevelopmental and mental health services.
Our multidisciplinary initiative combines clinical expertise with improved digital integration to create a more streamlined, patient-centred experience. It has been designed to reduce unnecessary clinic visits, shorten waiting times and make it easier for patients to access the appropriate assessment, therapy or specialist support.
Improving access to outpatient care
Waiting lists remain one of the most significant challenges facing mental health and neurodevelopmental services in Ireland.
Long and fragmented care pathways can leave patients and families attending multiple appointments, repeating information and waiting extended periods between different stages of assessment and treatment.
BetterCare’s initiative aims to address these challenges by coordinating care across disciplines and using digital systems to improve communication, administration and the overall patient journey.
This approach has achieved a substantial reduction in waiting times and has the potential to improve access to therapy and specialist care for patients throughout Ireland.
Recognition of our multidisciplinary team
Being shortlisted by the Irish Healthcare Awards judging panel is an important independent recognition of BetterCare’s commitment to:
